CAD DESIGNER - Greenwood, MS

Position Description:
The position will have the responsibility of designing, developing and releasing to production product assemblies, and sub-assemblies while working within design team atmosphere.


Responsibilities:
• Interface with the CAD system to provide necessary modeling and detailing support for existing and new assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Interact with Manufacturing to provide acceptable designs for assembly and fabrication.
• Interact with Purchasing to provide complete engineering drawings and support documentation for all current and future designs.
• Investigate and process ECN’s through the Viking Range Process.
• Work with various Viking Range departments supplying and verifying necessary data for producing acceptable products.
• Provide assistance to other team personnel on drafting standards, engineering practices, and manufacturing materials and processes.


Requirements:
• High School education. Preferably some college courses in engineering or mechanical design.
• Experience with 3D Parametric CAD is required. CATIA/Solidworks preferred.
• Works well within a team environment
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years product design experience

DESIGN ENGINEER - Greenwood, MS

Position Description:
The Design Engineer works as part of a process and product improvement/inception unit, focusing on product and process development by using engineering principles to increase the efficiency and value of the business, while utilizing cost effective mechanisms and improving overall product performance, reliability, and safety.


Responsibilities:
• Ability to utilize engineering principles to develop an optimized product design.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, including program plans that identify work scope, schedules, milestones, tasks, priorities, and risks.
• Manage program/project issues and risks by effectively working with departments to develop parallel paths, contingencies, and risk mitigation plans to meet project deliverables per budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with overall project scope and schedules.
• Attend and actively participate in project team meetings to ensure overall project alignment.
• Effectively communicate program/project status to all stakeholders including project team members, resource owners, suppliers, and customer groups.
• Escalate issues and risks as appropriate to ensure program/project success.
• Ability to use 3D CAD software packages to build a conceptual idea for prototyping and communications to other departments.
• Analyze product applications, investigate customer/field problems, and answer customer inquiries related to product designs.

DIRECTOR OF QUALITY - Greenwood, MS

Job Description:
Establish quality goals, communicate requirements to fulfill quality goals and establish system to achieve quality goals. Develop and monitor quality metrics. Scope covers all branded quality and products the customer views as Viking or Lynx Grills.

This position nurtures an environment for continual improvement and excellence. Advisor to the senior executive group on quality matters. Providing quality training, internal growth paths, and facilitating management systems certification as needed.

Communicates the company’s quality system to suppliers, customers and stakeholders alike, and challenges / drives improvement outcomes throughout the organization. Also provides key oversight of business system compliance to any international standard adopted by the company.


Qualifications:
• Strong APQP and Process Control implementation skills
• Strong supplier quality and development background.
• Able to supervise hourly quality auditors
• Able to facilitate implementation of in-process inspection
• Knowledge of and ability to negotiate quotes for electronic test equipment
• TS16949/ISO 9001 lead auditor trained. UL, KIWA, CSA or In-Metro quality systems knowledge beneficial.
• Has implemented an ISO-9001 / ISO-140001 / TS-16949 business system in the past and successfully seen it through 3rd party registration.
• Analytic skills required for documentation of continuous improvement and product development
• Able to make decisions and communicate justification to executive management
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.

SEALED SYSTEMS ENGINEER - Greenwood, MS

The sealed system engineer is a recognized subject matter expert in his/her domain and responsible for the coordination of design and development of sealed refrigeration systems. Viking Range, LLC is a manufacture of high end domestic and international refrigerators, consisting of All refrigerators, all freezers, Side by Side and Bottom Mount Freezers.

 

Essential Job Results:

• Responsible for the design, development and qualification of refrigeration system components and/or sub-assemblies related to the sealed system.  Some component parts include: compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion device and fans, etc.

• Define Interface Control Documents (ICD) and work with System Integration Engineers to assure the performance, safety, quality and the reliability requirement of the product.

• Assist with DOE regulation changes, develop a project plan and introduce design alterations to improve the energy efficiency of the product.

• Work with AHAM and EPA on the new regulations / industry standard requirements and introduce an engineering change product plan to the management.

• Integrate refrigeration system components based on the theoretical analysis of the system.  Build a design model based on the theoretical analysis

• Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems. Interface with vendors and other departments on product compliance.

• Coordinate engineering activities with other departments including change plans, engineering changes, performance/agency testing and trial runs,

• Contribute to a cross-functional team as required to support the development of future projects.

• Develop and initiate new product features and system performance.

• Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing components.

• Initiate and develop ideas that result in system performance improvements.

• Support the transfer of knowledge to product care and manufacturing.

 

Skills required:

• Expert on heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamic analysis of vapor compression refrigeration cycles.

• Experience in the modeling/simulation and development of AC or refrigeration systems and components

• Ability to design the engineering predictive models before sampling

• Ability to design efficient airflow systems.

• Knowledge of various manufacturing and quality processes related to refrigeration systems.

• FMEA experience

• Design of Experiments knowledge would be helpful

• International appliance product knowledge would be helpful

• Strong interpersonal, customer-focused, and leadership skills

Education:

• BSME with 10+ years or MSME with 8+ years of experience or Phd (thermodynamic or related) with 5+ years of experience

• Knowledge of 3D Parametric CAD is preferred

SENIOR ENGINEER- REFRIGERATION - Greenwood, MS

JOB PURPOSE:
Lead Engineering Product Teams by creating, developing, planning and implementing designs for new products, and resolving issues with existing products, in a manner that meets project objectives, specifications and timelines.


REPORTS TO:
Sr. VP, Manufacturing


ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:
1. PROVIDE TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP by participating in and leading teams, and driving projects to successful completion.
2. ASSIST WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF STRATEGIC PLANS, DEPARTMENTAL GOALS, AND BUDGETS by participating with the management team.
3. DEVELOP PROJECT PLANS AND SCOPING STUDIES by analyzing feasibility, resource requirements, schedules, and costs.
4. DELIVER PROJECT PER SPECIFICATIONS IN A TIMELY MANNER by developing project schedules and test plans.
5. DEVELOP OPTIMUM DESIGN SOLUTIONS by performing analysis of engineering calculation, root-cause analysis, FMEA, DFM/A, FEA, CFD, and RSS tolerance studies.

10. DEVELOP PARTS LISTS AND BILL OF MATERIALS by working with others to further define product to enable efficient manufacture.
11. FOLLOW PROJECT FROM CONCEPT INTO PRODUCTION by working with manufacturing, suppliers, and others to ensure efficient and smooth implementation/transition to new design on schedule, at rate, and with minimal material obsolescence.
12. ENHANCE THE REFRIGERATION STRUCTURE GROUPS AND SYSTEMS by creating, developing, and implementing the product design.
13. PARTICIPATE AND/OR CREATE STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT AND ENGINEERING DIRECTIONS FOR REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS GROUP.
14. PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT AND KEEP ABREAST OF ADVANCED AND INNOVATIVE REFRIGERATION STRUCTURE GROUPS AND SYSTEMS.
15. SERVE AS A COMPANY REPRESENATIVE by joining technical or trade groups, consortiums, and committees (e.g.-SPE, Polyurethane’s Conference, AHAM, ACRE, etc.)


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Associate’s degree with 8 years of product engineering experience.
2. 10 years experience in product development/engineering.
3. Demonstrated strong engineering technical knowledge and ability.
4. Willingness to travel, as required, to complete work assignments and act as a company representative.
5. Demonstrated program management, organization, and communication skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead product engineering development teams and projects from design concept into production (on target and on schedule).
7. Familiarity with basic PC systems, such as MS Windows, Office, Excel, etc.
